Practical tips
• Leave a long end at the beginning and end of each piece for sewing
• Sew seams with RS facing, using mattress stitch.

# Body
With yarn A, cast on 10 sts.
Row 1 (WS): Purl.
Row 2: (Kfb) in each st to end. 20 sts
Row 3: Purl.
Row 4: (K1, kfb) to end. 30 sts

Row 6: (K2, kfb) to end. 40 sts
Rows 7-19: Starting with a p row, work 13 rows in St st.
Row 20: (K2, k2tog) to end. 30 sts
Rows 21-25: Starting with a p row, work 5 rows in St st.
Row 26: (K1, k2tog) to end. 20 sts
Row 27: Purl.
Row 28: (K2tog) to end. 10 sts
Break yarn, draw through sts, pull tightly and fasten off.
# Ears: make two
With yarn A, cast on 5 sts
Rows 1-2: Starting with a p (WS) row, work 2 rows in St st.

Break yarn, thread through sts, pull tightly and fasten off.
# Dungarees
With yarn B/C/D, work as for Body to row 15. 40 sts
Row 16: cast off 13 sts, k13, cast off to end. 14 sts
With WS facing, join yarn to remaining sts.
Row 17: K2, p10, k2.
Row 18: Knit.
Rows 19-20: Repeat rows 17-18.
Cast off k-wise.
# Straps: make two
With crochet hook and yarn B/C/D to match dungarees, make 20 ch. Fasten off.
# To make up
With fastened-off yarn end, seam body half way. With cast-on yarn end, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Sew up a little further, stuff and close seam. Seam dungarees from cast-on end in the same way, encase body and secure dungarees to body with stitches all around. Attach ears. Stitch together the sides of snout and attach it to face. Seam arms and without stuffing, attach them to body. Seam feet with a little stuffing and attach them to body. Attach dungaree straps, crossing them at the back. Attach eye beads. With yarn E, embroider nostrils on snout.

With yarn G, cast on 8 sts and work 5 rows in St st, starting with a p (WS) row.

# Straps: make two
With crochet hook and yarn G, make 20 ch. Fasten off.
# Vest With yarn H, cast on 24 sts
Rows 1-3: Knit.
Row 4 (WS): K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.
Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: As row 4.
Row 7: (K2, k2tog) 3 times, (k2tog, k2) 3 times. 18 sts
Rows 8-13: Repeat rows 4-5.
Row 14: (P1, p2tog) to end. 12 sts
Cast off.
# Tail
With 20mm pompom maker, make a dense pompom using yarn F for one half and yarn I for the other. Make another pompom the same way, using 25mm pompom maker. Connect the two pompoms firmly by stitching through the centres.
# To make up
With fastened-off yarn end, seam head half way. With cast-on yarn end, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Stuff head and close seam. With yarn F, work a gathering thread over eyeline and draw gently to create eye dent. Attach ears at cast-on edge. Attach eyes. With yarn E, embroider nose and mouth. Thread needle with yarn F and make back stitches to sides of head, leaving loops. Seam body to neck and stuff. Seam dungarees, encase body and secure dungarees to body with stitches all around. Attach pocket. Attach dungaree straps to body, crossing them at the back. Seam legs and stuff. With F, pierce foot from centre of sole and take the needle out from ankle and repeat. Pull thread to flatten sole and shape ankle. Attach legs to body. Attach vest to body at neck. Seam arms, stuff and attach them to body. Attach head to body.
