Cast on a 16-stitch chain stitch, join the first chain, braid it and keep crocheting.
People with big hands increase it to 17 or 18 stitches.

Rnds 1-2: single crochet, rnds 3-7: double crochet, final rnd is also single crochet. On the 5th rnd, create a hole for your thumb to fit through.

Crochet so that the left and right hands are symmetrical.

Attach your choice of decorative button, and connect it with the chain stitch.
