Row 11-15: Work in St st, starting with a p row.
Row 16: K1, [p1, k1] to end.
Row 17: P1, [k1, p1] to end.

Feet: work two the same

With A, cast on 10 sts.

Hands: work two the same

With A, cast on 10 sts and work 7 rows in St st, starting with a p row. Break yarn, draw through sts, pull tightly and fasten off.

Tail

With A, cast on 10 sts and work 40 rows in St st, starting with a p row.
Row 41: [P2tog] to end. 5 sts
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Thread through sts and pull tightly.

Dungarees

With B, cast on 10 sts and work as body to row 9. 50 sts
Row 10: [K9, kfb] to end. 55 sts
Rows 11-29: Work in St st, starting with a p row.
Row 30: [K9, k2tog] to end. 50 sts
Rows 31-33: [K1, p1] to end.
Row 34: Cast off 16 sts, k17, cast off to end. 18 sts
Row 35: With WS facing, join yarn and k2, p16, k2.
Row 36: Knit.
Rows 37-44: Rep rows 35-36 four more times.
Rows 45-46: Knit.
Row 47: K5, cast off 8 sts k-wise, k to end. 10 sts
First strap
Rows 48-77: Knit 30 rows.
Cast off.
Second strap
Join yarn to remaining 5 sts and knit 30 rows. Cast off.

To make up

With fasten-off yarn end, sew body half way. With cast-on yarn end, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Sew rest of base, stuff body and close seam. With cast-on yarn end of dungarees, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Encase body and sew seam to the waist. Seam hands and stuff, leaving the cast-on edge open. Wrap hand with sleeves, secure cuff to the hands with a few stitches around and seam sleeves. Stuff and attach cast-on edge to body. Sew straps’ ends to the back edge of dungarees, crossing them at the back. Make up head as body and stuff. Work a gathering thread along eyeline and draw thread gently to shape eye dent. Seam ears and with seam in front inner centre, sew base corners together. Attach ears to head. Attach beads for eyes. With D, embroider nose, mouth and whiskers with backstitches. Attach head to body. Seam foot and stuff. Attach feet to body with the fasten-off ends facing forwards. From fasten-off end, seam tail as inserting stuffing time to time. Attach its cast-on edge to body.
