Materials
• Cloth for tumblers: light color, dark color
• Cloth for base: light color
• Cloth for backing: 42 cm x 35 cm
• Batting: 42 cm x 35 cm
• Bias tape: 3.5 cm x 150 cm
• Sewing Thread/Quilting Thread
Making
Making templates. Prepare cloth with the template. Draw the line of the template on the wrong side of cloth. Add 7mm seam allowances outside of the marked tumblers. This line will be the cutting line. Cut the tumblers.
・Template: Tumbler
Light color: 6 pcs.
Dark color: 7 pcs.
・Template; A
A: 3 pcs.
A’ (flip over of A): 2 pcs.
・Template: B
B: 2 pcs.
B’ (flip over of B): 3 pcs.
Cut the 2 rectangles with base cloth.
C: 17cm x 18cm (Add 7mm seam allowances every side)
D: 21cm x 12cm (Add 7mm seam allowances every side)
Place 2 tumblers (dark color and light color) right side together. Make sure that match the corners. Place the pins exactly. Take a backstitch at the beginning of your seam marking and sew with a running stitch on the line. Backstitch at the end of the seam marking.
Use Roll & Press and press the seam allowances.
Sew each line of ① - ⑤.
Sew ① and ②.
Then Sew ③ to ⑤.
After this, sew C and D together.
Lay the batting over the wrong side of backing cloth and lay the quilt top over the batting right side up. Baste with needle and thread.
Draw quilting lines. Use the template and draw quilting lines as you like. Quilt with quilting needle and thread.
Fold your bias tape with Bias Tape Maker and iron.
Cut the excess of batting and backing cloth.
Bind your quilt with the bias tapes.
Cut the basting thread and wash the quilt. Dry it.
