Practical tips

Tail

With yarn A, cast on 12 sts. Starting with a p (WS) row, work 29 rows in St st. Break yarn, thread through sts, pull tightly and fasten off.

Hat

With yarn D, cast on 30 sts.

To make up

With cast-on yarn end, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Sew body seam to neck and stuff. Seam legs, stuff and attach them to body. Fold arm piece lengthwise and using the fastened-off yarn end, sew hand seam. Sew arm seam to cast-on edge, stuff arms and attach them to body. With fastened-off yarn end of head, sew seam halfway. With cast-on yarn end, work a gathering thread along cast-on edge and draw tightly. Attach safety eyes. Sew up seam a little further, stuff, and close seam. Seam muzzle, insert toy stuffing into muzzle and sew the cast-off edge of muzzle to head. Seam ears and sew them to head. With yarn G, embroider nose and mouth. With yarn H, embroider whiskers. Sew head to neck. Seam tail, stuff and attach tail to body. Seam hat, insert stuffing into hat and attach hat to head. Wrap main scarf piece around neck and stitch two corners together at the front neck. Attach two front scarf pieces.
